Capacity Building

Equipping young environmental leaders with the tools, networks and support they need to scale their impact and create lasting change in their communities and beyond.

Flexible, Impact-Driven Support

We believe in empowering young environmental leaders to drive meaningful change on their own terms. Our role isn’t to dictate but to support and amplify their efforts, enabling them to achieve their vision while respecting their autonomy. We recognise that each of our prize winners is navigating unique challenges, and our approach is built around their priorities, not ours.

We let our prize winners decide how they wish to engage with our capacity-building opportunities – whether through mentorship, skill development, or tailored support. This ensures our programmes remain genuinely helpful, not an added burden. From mentorship rooted in reciprocity and transparency to practical tools for scaling impact, our initiatives are designed to meet young innovators where they are and help them grow sustainably.

Building Resilience Through Partnership

Since 2022, The Iris Project and Open Briefing have supported environmental leaders facing ecological and advocacy challenges. Initially workshop-based, this partnership expanded in 2023 to offer hands-on risk and security guidance tailored to each project. Through mentorship, scenario planning, and community-driven strategies, grantees build resilience, address safety concerns, and plan for sustainable growth, ensuring they can navigate challenges and thrive long-term.

CoalitionWILD Excelerator Programme

CoalitionWILD’s six-month programme empowers emerging environmental leaders with skills to drive action projects. Prize winners join bi-monthly webinars with expert-led sessions on project management, fundraising, grant writing, and communication. They can also apply for extra funding and connect with global changemakers.
